REGENERATIVE FARMING

Location: CLOSE TO PEMBERTON, BC IN D'ARCY, BC NEXT TO BIRKENHEAD LAKE PROVINCIAL PARK, BC
PAID $18.00 - HOURLY 24-32 HR WORK WEEK DEPENDING

THE FARM: Arrows Echo Farm is a developing farm near Pemberton in N'Quatqua Territory. The farm is all about providing healthy happy food to provide a fulfilling life and livelihood for our holistic community. We are looking for motivated individuals to join our farm for 2024 and beyond. Expect hot summer days and lots of mud, rain, bugs, and cold.

TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Assessing and creating livestock pastures plus rotational pasture movement of livestock.Assisting in the development of a regenerative farm plan. Stock farm stand and assist in product development.Creation of feed stock, loading/unloading hay and assist in infrastructure development including a new barn; Plus planting, seeding, weeding, irrigating, harvesting; There is variety in daily tasks!Farming experience is an asset but not required.HOURS/SCHEDULEBetween 24-32 hours/week.THE JOBWe are currently looking to hire for Regenerative Farm Associate. A full-time commitment for the main season(May through September) is ideal, but we are flexible for the right fit and everyone is encouraged to apply, part-time candidates and summer students included.

Regenerative Farm Associate ($18/hour): Must be comfortable being outdoors in all weather, learning new tasks,and working alongside fellow crew members, volunteers, and independently as needed. You will be expected tolearn tasks, get faster, and provide honest self-reflection as well as feedback on how we can do better as a team.Farming can be repetitive and it can be challenging.

Every employee has the potential to advance into consistent seasonal contracts, a long-term salaried position, and/or year-round employment with the farm. In your application, feel free to highlight your long-term career goals if applicable.Along with an hourly wage and consistent work hours ($18/hr), employees have access to fresh farm-grown produce, wild mushrooms, wildcrafted medicinal herbs and other farm products (kombucha) throughout the season(plenty of veggies to take home!).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Will take direction and pay attention to detail
  • Enjoys working independently and in a teamIs physically fit; able to bend over for long periods of time; able to lift up to 50lb
  • Has reliable transportation
  • Is experienced around and respectful of livestock
  • Is excited about local food and farmingExperience in physically-demanding jobs or recreation pursuitsValid
  • Clean driving record
  • Availability (start/end dates and days/week)
  • Eligible to work in Canada (required)

SKILLS / HIGHLIGHTS

Housing: Employees generally live in the town of Pemberton, Birken or D’Arcy or perhaps even Whistler (1.5 hours away approx). On-farm accommodation may be possible for the right fit.
