Positions: Junior Farmhands & Flowerhand
Farm: Athiana Acres
Location: 12800 No.2 Road, Richmond BC (Greater Vancouver BC)
Also hiring: Senior Grower

Going into our fourth season on the farm, we are searching for Junior Farmhands to join our team. The ideal candidate is an individual with a passion to learn about organic or regenerative growing methods of produce and flowers.

We are also looking for a Junior Flowerhand to support our in-house floral team with growing, harvesting and processing flowers. The ideal candidate is an individual with a passion for all things flowers and if desired, the role may provide learning opportunities for flower arranging and supporting with floral orders and workshops.

Experience in farming is a strong asset for these roles but is not required if the candidate has the right mindset and willingness to learn!

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES – Junior Farmhand:

• Complete various tasks related to field and greenhouse crop production: seeding, transplanting, harvesting, weeding, trellising etc.
• Processing, washing, and accurately packing of crops for orders
• Maintain the farm’s high standards in product quality, cleanliness, organization
• Opportunities to specialize in certain tasks or work at our farm store/various events as desired/needed throughout the season

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES – Junior Flowerhand:

• Complete various tasks related to flower production: seeding, transplanting, harvesting, weeding, trellising etc.
• Processing of flowers
• Maintain the farm’s high standards in product quality, cleanliness, organization

ROLE OVERVIEW:

• Work Week: 40 hrs +/- based on seasonal requirements
• Work Days: typically Monday-Friday 7am-3pm, can require flexibility for other days of the week depending on seasonal requirements
• Term: March 1 – Nov 1, 2025 (fleixble start)
• Location: Athiana Acres (12800 No.2 Road, Richmond BC)
• Compensation: hourly, $20.00/hour – may be adjusted, commensurate with experience

REQUIREMENTS & DESIRED SKILLS:

• Physical ability to carry out farm tasks (crouching and bending for long periods, lifting totes of product, etc) and ability to work in all weather conditions
• Ability to work efficiently independently as well as in a team setting
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to uphold quality standards
• Willingness to learn and self-motivated
• Passion for organic, regenerative farming!
