Position: Edible Gardener (Contractor)

Location: Office base in Mount Pleasant with work sites around Vancouver, downtown, North Vancouver and West Vancouver

• Hours: 8-24 per week April-November depending on work and contractor availability
• Ideal Availability: Wednesday-Friday
• Compensation: based on client package *competitive rates

This is a contract position for our edible garden installation, maintenance and coaching team in Vancouver, BC, starting as soon as possible

Seed and Nourish offers garden design, install, coaching and maintenance services to residential and hospitality clients in Vancouver, North Vancouver and West Vancouver with specialties including raised bed vegetable gardens, rooftop gardens and bespoke seasonal containers, along with full ecological and edible landscape transformations.

Our team is made up of skilled designers, fine gardeners and knowledgeable coaches who help our clients cultivate a deeper connection to the beauty, peace and nourishment found in the garden.

Responsibilities:

• Plant and maintain client gardens in backyards and rooftops in downtown Vancouver, West Vancouver and North Vancouver
• Provide onsite garden coaching consultations across the Lower Mainland
• Create garden plans for clients with various preferences and interests
• Maintain positive client relationships and communication around clients’ biweekly garden maintenance and tracking garden progress
• Gardening using organic principles and techniques
• Assist with garden installations including general labour tasks such as hauling soil, planters and materials
• You’ll be gardening as part of a small team or independently

Qualifications:

• Class 5 Driver's License and clean driving record is required
• ability to withstand up to 7 hours of physically demanding labour and the handling of heavy loads and repetitive tasks
• professional experience as a farmer, vegetable gardener or residential/commercial landscaper
• passionate about growing food organically and creating ecological landscapes
• an excellent listener with strong communication skills
• a commitment to learning and growth
• enjoys working outdoors, rain or shine
• able to take initiative, pursue self-directed tasks, and work independently
