Position: Executive Director
Organization: Farm Crawls of Ontario
Location: Hamilton ON (Work from Home.  Minimal local travel required.)

The Executive Director of Farm Crawl is the driving force behind the organization’s mission to bridge the gap between urban populations and family farms. They are a visionary leader with a passion for sustainable agriculture and community engagement. Reporting to the board, the Executive Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Farm Crawl’s operations, working closely with farmers, volunteers, sponsors, and community stakeholders to ensure the success of each farm tour event.

Their role involves strategic planning, fundraising, marketing, and program development to effectively showcase the unique stories and offerings of each participating family farm. They possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering meaningful connections between urban consumers and local agriculture.

With a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing family farms, the Executive Director advocates for policies and initiatives that support small-scale, sustainable agriculture. They are committed to promoting environmental stewardship, economic resilience, and cultural appreciation within both rural and urban communities.

The Executive Director of Farm Crawl embodies the organization’s values of transparency, inclusivity, and collaboration, working to showcase a stronger, more vibrant food system for future generations.

The position is part-time, requiring roughly 30 hours per month for 8-9 months per year.

The ideal candidate will be someone with an interest in family farms and requisite life experience.
