Hiring: Full time field crew 2025
Farm: Laughing Crow Organics
Location: Pemberton, near Whistler BC
Dates of employment: Beginning of May to mid/end of October (weather dependent)

We are looking for people who want to be involved in the process of growing really good food, like hard work, enjoy a good challenge, value doing their work well, and can work quickly and efficiently in a crew or alone.

The farm grows vegetables for two Farmers' Markets, 200+ CSA Members a farmstand and two agri tourism ventures (sunflower maze and U-Pick pumpkins).

We work hard, enjoy what we do, and eat well while doing it.

Your role — As a small, hard-working team of 4 to 5 people, we all participate in many aspects of what it takes to run a 10-acre mixed vegetable farm. This means that throughout the season daily tasks are diverse and may include any combination of:

• Field Cultivation with hand tools
• Field Cultivation with small tractors
• Weeding
• Seed Starting
• Transplanting
• Pruning greenhouse crops
• Harvesting Vegetables and Flowers by Hand
• Stocking The Farm Stand
• Wash & Pack Duties
• Bin washing
• Field Clean-Up

We feel that farm workers are skilled labor, candidates who succeed and thrive, enjoy working in a physically and sometimes mentally demanding role, enjoy working quickly and value efficiency and quality in all their efforts.

Base Qualifications

• Legally allowed to work in Canada i.e You're a Canadian citizen or have a valid work Visa.
• Positive attitude & strong work ethic
• Punctual
• Ability to repeatedly lift 40lbs
• Ability to kneel, bend, and squat repeatedly for long periods
• Ability to withstand and enjoy working outside in all weather conditions from extreme heat to rain and mud.
• Strong communication skills
• Problem-solving skills,
• Ability to absorb, integrate, and execute detailed instructions and feedback.

Key Assets

• Previous labor experience, i.e. landscaping, tree planting, carpentry
• Strong observation skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to adapt to changing job conditions and priorities
