Lynn River Farm is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team for the 2025 growing season. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sustainable farming and work with a small team passionate about providing farm-to-table products.

About Us

Lynn River Farm is located just 5 mins east of Stratford, Ontario. We grow approx an acre of mixed organic vegetables, flowers, raise poultry and bees. We have a commercial kitchen on site for catering and our on farm 6 course Farm Dinners.

The Position

This role is for individuals who love working the land, enjoy the outdoors, and are ready for the physical demands of farming. As a member of our team, you will engage in all aspects of our mixed vegetable farm production, from fieldwork to feeding animals, to post-harvest tasks. We value a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to contribute both independently and as part of a team.

Kitchen food prep or event help if the candidate is interested.

Position: Farm Staff
Location: Stratford, ON
Hours of Work: 5 days per week (35-40 hours per week)
Start Date: May 1, 2025
Duration: May – October 2025
Compensation: $20/hr + Weekly CSA box with fresh farm produce

Responsibilities:

  • Harvesting, washing, and packing produce.
  • Fieldwork, including bed preparation, soil amendment, weeding, irrigation, pruning, transplanting, compost pile maintenance, trellising, and general farm handiwork.
  • Performing repetitive tasks that require lifting, bending, and squatting for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lifting 50 lbs.
  • Working in various weather conditions: rain, sun, heat, and wind.
  • Adapting to changing tasks throughout the season.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous farming experience is preferred.
  • Strong willingness to learn and contribute.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding tasks.

Logistics

  • Reliable transportation, as the farm is not accessible by public transport.
  • Accommodation on farm may be an option.
