About Urban Bee/West Coast Seeds

Urban Bee is the beekeeping supply division of West Coast Seeds. Our goal is to supply quality products and exceptional customer service to help meet the needs of beekeepers. We sell a wide range of beekeeping equipment as well as live bees, and we offer beekeeper educational services. Our specialty is supporting new and hobby beekeepers, and we have a strong presence in the lower mainland and BC. Our retail and warehouse areas are part of the larger West Coast Seeds store and farm grounds in rural Ladner.

About This Role

The retail sales associate will work inside the West Coast Seeds and Urban Bee store assisting all customers. The sales associate will assist with daily operations of the retail space with a strong focus on providing exceptional customer service, warehouse duties and order fulfilments and will be reporting to the Urban Bee Division Lead.

You will be one of the key faces of Urban Bee and this is a promising role for any beekeeper looking for a way to provide a positive, meaningful service and leave their own unique impact on the beekeeping community.

Responsibilities

• Retail: beekeeping supplies merchandising, customer sales and advising, general customer experience, re-stocking shelves and assisting to maintain cleanliness of store.
• Warehouse: order fulfilment, warehouse inventory management
• Assisting customers with beekeeping and related product questions in-store, over the phone, and via email.
• General support for the Urban Bee Division Lead and general Urban Bee/West Coast Seeds operations.

Candidate Assets

• Required – Minimum 1yr beekeeping experience.
• Previous retail experience required 
• Email/phone capabilities, retail and point of sales systems operations
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to the ever-changing needs of the seasonality of the business
• The ideal candidate is a team player, has great interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, and a willingness to take initiative.
• Ability to stand, bend, crouch and lift a minimum of 50lbs

Job Details

Location: West Coast Seeds/Urban Bee Store: 5300 34b Ave, Delta, BC.

Wage: $20-24hr based on experience, with opportunity for advancement over time.

Hours: Part time or full time available
